Following the loss of his parents, Evan Stone returns to his childhood home to pack things up and say goodbye, unearthing a family secret that will shake his entire identity.

This short film was conceived and written by Shaun Baer and co-developed with Daniel Ellis in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Truly a product of quarantine creativity, Shaun served as actor and crew on set, with Daniel directing through Zoom, guiding the lighting and viewing dailies on his cell phone.

"Heart of Stone" won both the Director's Choice and Audience Choice award at the 2023 Cinema Diverse Festival and was screened at the 2024 LA Queer Film Fest.
